‘Perch’ yourself right here for juicy burgers and much more

Eagle Burger ($11.75)

Today marks National Hamburger Day and you can join the tasty celebration by sinking your teeth into the juicy Eagle Burger at New Eagle Cafe at bustling Nimitz Center in Honolulu.

Although there are many people who claim to have concocted the first-ever burger, some say Louis Lassen did it on this day in the year 1900 at Louis’ Lunch in New Haven Connecticut.

Macadamia Nut Hotcake Combo ($10.75)

However, for whatever reason you wish and any day you choose, the helpful crew at New Eagle Cafe here on Oahu is prepared to welcome you with a delicious, filling Eagle Burger ($11.75).

Server Maria Dona, who has worked at New Eagle Cafe for many years, explains that this classic beef burger can be enjoyed piled high with lettuce, tomato, avocado, alfalfa sprouts, avocado, onion and crispy bacon. Bite into this craving-calming sandwich alongside a zesty pickle spear and crunchy crinkle fries.

Prime Rib Sandwich ($15.95)

Another hefty choice at the restaurant is the Prime Rib Sandwich ($15.95).

This provides customers with tender slices of prime rib tucked inside fresh bread. Soup of the day and a dipping sauce of au jus accompany the sandwich. Enjoy this delightful mouthful with a side of fries and choice of mac salad or tossed salad.

Fans of flapjacks can indulge their sweet tooth with the Macadamia Nut Hotcake Combo ($10.75), providing patrons with a nice stack of fluffy hotcakes. Served with sliced mac nuts and a mound of house-made coconut-cream sauce, these warm pancakes come with your choice of breakfast meat and an egg.

Guided by owner Tae Im, the home style New Eagle Cafe eatery provides its patrons with a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, seven days a week.
