In 1972, Kozo Sushi opened its first store in Osaka, Japan. The fledgling sushi establishment filled a niche in the market, between an okazuya and a high-priced sushi bar. This innovative company soon expanded with locations throughout The Land of the Rising Sun.
Here locally, Kozo Sushi has four convenient locations on Oahu — one in Moiliili across the old Stadium Park and others in Kahala Mall, Pearl City and Pearlridge Center.
Patrons of Kozo Sushi favor it highly because the stores unfailingly serve takeout rolls and other items that fit local palates with the taste and impeccable quality of sit-down restaurant fare, but at reasonable prices.
Additionally, the company permeates its top-caliber rice with a superb sushi vinegar blend. Kozo Sushi sells an array of combinations from large, popular party platters, handrolls, bento and more.
BOUNTIFUL AND FLAVORFUL
Chicken Katsu Bento ($7.99) is a plentiful meal that quickly can satisfy a hungry customer. This menu item has expertly cooked pieces of chicken katsu and sauce on a bed of rice. It is accompanied by inari sushi, California maki, shinko maki and a salad.
Another highly admired choice is the Sweet Chili Chicken Bento ($8.50). The dish provides a generous portion of delicious pieces of chicken in a delectable sweet chili sauce, and is also served alongside a salad and shinko maki.
