Eat Pure at Kaimuki Restaurant

Da Nang Beach ($19)

If you are looking for a premier plant-based restaurant, head down to Vegan Hills in Kaimuki.

This welcoming, mindful vegan restaurant uses organic and locally sourced ingredients as often as possible, and always prepares its creations with compassion and care — never using animal products.

The eatery’s decor is purposefully minimalist, so the focus is on the food as art and the beauty of elegant simplicity.

Avocado Sushi Boat ($19)

Just a few of the favored menu items prized by customers are Spicy Da Kalbi, Why Not Chos? (Mexican-style nachos), the spectacular Coco-Mari (king oyster mushroom appetizer) and Coco Cove, a rice noodle soup dish.

The restaurant also features an extensive list of cocktails, wines, beers and other refreshing beverages.

Restaurant manager Kellee Comeau shares that Vegan Hills recently reopened in July after a remodel, which revamped the kitchen. This upgrade enabled the restaurant to open for dinner.

ELEVATED EATING EXPERIENCE

One of the heavenly menu items at Vegan Hills is Avocado Sushi Boat ($19). It consists of a halved and open faced avocado stuffed with brown rice, house made tofu ricotta, yummy smoked carrot, house-made almond milk French dressing and micro greens. It is served with the restaurant’s delightful smoked chickpea spread and wasabi-tamari sauce. A second tasty treat at the eatery is Da Nang Beach ($19). This delicious dish features appetizing Vietnamese-style chilled rice noodles topped with organic mixed greens, house-marinated soy curl chicken, fried tofu and red cabbage. It also includes fresh organic carrots, cilantro, watermelon radish and organic pea tendrils. The pleasing creation also features organic peanut sauce and a house-made sweet and spicy dressing.
