With the approach of the holidays, crowds are beginning to throng to West Oahu’s new retail centers looking for great deals.
So, when it’s time to stop shopping and grab a bite to eat, you should head toward Ruby Tuesday in Kapolei. Ruby Tuesday’s decor is warm and soothing, making it the perfect spot to stop and refuel. All of the restaurant’s Hawaii locations are filled with memorabilia unique to the surrounding community. And something just as impressive is the restaurant’s iconic, long, salad bar — Ruby Tuesday’s Garden Bar, which is filled with fresh, bright ingredients.
“There’s romaine, spring mix, spinach, tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers, black olives, beets, banana peppers and several different dressings,” says Eddie Arnold, director of operations. “And we’re famous for our croutons, made with pumpernickel bread.”
The Garden Bar also is the star of a couple of hot meal deals, available Nov. 1-30. With the $2 Burger or Sandwich with Purchase of Garden Bar special, you can enjoy the all-you-care-to-eat salad bar for just $14.99 and add a Classic Cheeseburger, Grilled Chicken Sandwich or Turkey Burger for only $2 more. “Our burger is 100 percent USDA Choice, grilled to order and served on a toasted brioche bun with fresh lettuce, onion, tomato and pickle chips,” says Arnold. Fries are included with all sandwiches.
At dinnertime, the deal gets even better with $5 Entree with Purchase of Garden Bar. Again, you can enjoy the endless Garden Bar for just $14.99 and add one of four delicious entrees to your meal for only $5 more. Choices include the six-ounce Petite Sir-loin, seasoned and grilled to your liking, and served with a choice of two side dishes from a list that includes grilled zucchini, rice pilaf, steamed broccoli, onion rings, mashed potatoes, french fries, green beans, and baked potato.
Craving something smoky and sweet? Try Hickory Bourbon Chicken, a tender chicken breast topped with a delectable barbecue glaze. There’s also Blackened Tilapia, seasoned with Creole spices and grilled to perfection, or California Primavera Pasta, which features Cavatappi corkscrews tossed with grilled vegetables in a lemon basil sauce, finished with Parmesan cheese.
One caveat is no sharing. “Because it’s all you can eat, we do our best to discourage sharing, as it hurts our ability to be able to offer great deals like this,” says Arnold.
For holiday parties, Ruby Tuesday offers catering for pickup and delivery through all of its Hawaii locations. The extensive catering menu offers a selection of many of the restaurant’s favorite items, like Parmesan Shrimp, Ruby Minis, New Orleans Seafood, and Baja Chicken Wraps.
“We can even set up a little Garden Bar right in your office or home, with many of the same things we have on the Garden Bar in our restaurants,” says Arnold. “It serves 12-15 guests and starts at $149.99.” Ruby Tuesday also offers a catered breakfast experience, perfect for morning meetings.
