If you are craving pizza, look no further than Brick Fire Tavern in Chinatown.
With a menu filled with out-of-the-box creations like Da “Shrimp Truck” ($19), featuring besciamella (white sauce), succulent shrimp, roasted garlic, mozzarella, olive oil and flat leaf parsley, and classics such as Margherita, Brick Fire Tavern surely can satisfy anyone’s hankering for pizza.
If you just can’t decide between traditional or modern, go for something that is tried-and-true, Pepperoni ($17). With house-made tomato sauce prepared with Italian San Marzano tomatoes, hand-pulled mozzarella and high-quality soppressata salami, you will want to eat this pie all by yourself.
No matter which pizza you end up biting into, you always can expect high-quality ingredients — aged cheeses, cured meats, oils and balsamic glazes are from Italy, herbs and most produce are locally-sourced, and mozzarella is from Wisconsin.
In addition to top-notch toppings and sauces, owner Matthew Resich calls upon a special dome shaped oven brought in from Naples, Italy to create his stellar pies.
“The smoldering embers of local kiawe wood heat the oven to 900 degrees Fahrenheit, which means our Napoletana pizzas are perfectly cooked in only 90 seconds — complete with rustic crusts, melted toppings and smoky flavors fired into every bite,” states Brick Fire Tavern’s website.
Adding another reason to visit the establishment, Brick Fire Tavern now offers happy hour specials from 3 to 6 p.m. During this time, diners can find drink specials, mini pizzas, breadsticks and more (customers can order regular sized and priced pizzas during happy hour, too).
