When you visit Pagoda Floating Restaurant in Honolulu, you instantly are immersed into a magically serene environment. With its peaceful waterfall, gardens, ponds and, of course, its abundance of tasty food, you’ll never want to leave.
Founded in 1964 by the late Herbert T. Hayashi, the restaurant continues to serve the community after more than five decades, explains Tracy Yadao, restaurant manager.
Hungry kamaaina often gather at Pagoda Floating Restaurant to happily feast on the eatery’s bountiful breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Every week the buffet menu items fluctuate to bring customers new taste sensations.
Additionally, Pagoda Banquets & Catering currently is presenting “Christmas in July.” When you schedule an event — that must take place now until Dec. 31 — Pagoda will gift the celebration with a complimentary food station of your choice. Available stations up for grabs are poke bar, snow crab legs, a whole 100-pound roast pig or the popular ice cream station.
Those interested in reserving their early Christmas present, can call Risa or Darlene at 948-8370. The special offer only is available for those who book a party prior to Aug. 1.
A SUMMER DREAM
As part of Pagoda Floating Restaurant’s Summer Seafood Fest lunch buffet lineup, which is available Monday-Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. ($18.95), the restaurant is serving up a Hawaiian Style Seafood Bake. The Seafood Bake includes clams, mussels, shrimp, corn, Portuguese sausage and ogo (a type of seaweed). The succulent items are steamed and then placed in the oven to bake, creating the perfect color and flavor. Another item on the buffet line is the prized Poke Bar, which includes fresh seafood items such as Korean Spicy Clam Poke, Shoyu Ahi Poke and Spicy Ahi Poke.
What’s more, diners can get 15 percent off their buffet when they are seated 10:30-11 a.m. for lunch or 5-5:30 p.m. for dinner. Keiki also can receive a complimentary fish food treat to give to Pagoda’s friendly koi. This offer only is available until July 30. (Customers must present the Summer Seafood Fest coupon available on the restaurant’s website or mention the special.)
