Starting today, guests can enjoy two May specials, like this refreshing bowl of Shrimp, Konnyaku and Daikon in Supreme Broth ($13.95) — perfect for summer as the dish is light yet filling.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: GOLDEN SKEWERED SHRIMP AND CHINESE YAM ($11.95), PLUS MORE FAVORITES

Restaurants often seek inspiration from what’s around them — whether it be fresh produce available on island or the trends in the business. But there are those that go the extra mile, like Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant in Ala Moana Center.

Snow Mountain Char Siu Buns ($3.95)
A longtime favorite among customers, this dim sum delight is a Jade Dynasty exclusive, featuring soft, flaky peaks of dough that, when pulled apart, reveal a delectable char siu filling.

The Chinese eatery is often inspired by frequent trips to China, where it seeks out both modern and traditional dishes served in the country before bringing those flavors back to the island, presented in its latest culinary creations.

Monthly specials to try out a new invention are common, and if guests really enjoy the latest offerings, then Jade Dynasty will make it a mainstay on the menu. Diners also can find timeless classics on the dining menu, as well as dim sum service available daily from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Golden Skewered Shrimp and Chinese Yam
Chinese cuisine is not only tasty, but good for your body, too. Showcased in one of this month’s special is Chinese yam, known to aid poor appetite, asthma, diabetes and more. The yams are first skinned, then poached to retain their texture, before receiving a light dressing of sweet chili sauce, which complements their refreshing flavors. Alongside the yams are skewered grilled shrimps that are lightly brushed with a savory sauce.

Further reason to head to Jade Dynasty is to celebrate Mom on her big day. The restaurant will be hosting a Mother’s Day buffet (limited seating may still be available, call to inquire), and will be open for dinner service. With more big celebrations ahead, such as graduation season, Jade Dynasty can serve as your party destination. The restaurant boasts a grand dining room, as well as seven private rooms, a 32-foot wide stage, TVs and sounds and projection systems.
