Through the end of June, Pagoda Floating Restaurant is celebrating fathers and graduates with an irresistible deal that the entire family can enjoy.
With Pagoda’s whimsically monikered “Dads & Grads Crab Special,” groups purchasing four adult lunch or dinner buffets will receive a free Dungeness crab with the coupon in this issue.
The sweet, succulent steamed crab is a perfect appetizer to share family-style, and you needn’t be a father, or a college or high school senior, to enjoy it. “The offer’s available to everybody!” explains Pagoda’s general manager John Teruya. “We’re just celebrating this month with our dads and grads.”
The lunch buffet for adults is $18.95 per person; the dinner buffet is $20.95 Monday through Thursday, and $39.95 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, when prime rib, crab legs, shrimp tempura and other delights are added to the offerings.
On June 17, Pagoda’s Father’s Day Brunch Buffet begins with a bowl of Kahuku corn and clam chowder, and continues with appetizers like fresh oysters on the half-shell, peel-n-eat shrimp cocktail, kimchee clams, Hawaiian-style ahi poke and more.
Chef’s stations will offer prime rib au jus, Alaskan snow crab legs, shrimp and vegetable tempura, and (brunch only) omelets made to order with island eggs.
Brunch entrees include smoked beef brisket, seafood with red Thai curry, Punaluu sweet bread French toast and other favorites.
For dinner, Molokai-style hamachi and baked miso pork are added to the entree selections.
Save room for dessert: treats include cinnamon sweet bread pudding with creme Anglaise, coconut cream puffs and zenzai with mochi.
Brunch will be served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m and dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Cost for the buffet is $58.95 ($50.95 for fathers and senior citizens age 60 and up). Reservations are highly recommended.
