Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Wailana Coffee House, where its Valentine’s Day Special has been an annual tradition for more than 25 years.

On the menu (available Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to midnight) is Prime Rib ($19.25), Seafood Continental ($16.25) and Sweetheart Chicken ($15.50). Dinner includes the all-you-can-eat salad bar; baked or mashed potato, french fries or rice; corn on the cob; strawberry short-cake with a swirl of whipped topping; and coffee, tea or a soft drink.

The Prime Rib dish, also called “The King of Roasts,” is boneless and slowly roasted to perfection until moist and tender. It is served with au jus and zesty horseradish cream sauce.

Wailana’s Seafood Continental has a trio of shrimp, scallops and mahi-mahi that has been sauteed, gently simmered in a supreme sauce and finished off with a splash of sherry.

Sweetheart Chicken ($15.50)

And the Sweetheart Chicken includes half a chicken buttered and roasted, served on macadamia nut stuffing and topped with white wine sauce, fresh mushrooms and tomatoes.

There also is a Valentine’s Day Breakfast Special featuring Cupid’s Breakfast ($10.95), which consists of three slices of Portuguese sweet bread filled with orange marmalade and dipped in egg batter, two eggs, two strips of bacon, and coffee or tea.

Located on Ala Moana Boulevard across from Hilton Hawaiian Village, the landmark family restaurant is known for its diverse menu with moderate prices and convenient hours — open 24 hours, six days a week.

For decades, kamaaina and visitors have come to love Wailana’s menu of local favorites, from Saimin and Roasted Chicken to New York Steak, as well as its 24-hour breakfast menu featuring popular items, such as Eggs Benedict, Strawberry Belgium Waffles, Steak and Eggs, and all-you-can-eat pancakes with two eggs and bacon.

Additionally, dinner (served from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.) includes Wailana’s allyou-can-eat salad bar with original house dressings.
