With the cool, rainy weather on the rise and the holidays here, one should seek shelter in a warm, friendly atmosphere with filling comfort food.
Head to New Eagle Cafe to choose from more than 100 local-style dishes, all served by welcoming staff.
The eatery started churning out an array of affordable dishes since the 1950s, and it continues to do so today with the addition of daily and holiday specials.
On the daily menu, there’s the classic Old Fashioned Rib Steak ($20.50) that won’t fail to satisfy your hunger with succulent ribeye steak, mushrooms and onions.
Slurp up Oxtail Stew ($15.25), served only on Mondays, which features chunks of oxtail in a sea of carrots and potatoes in a tomato base. This savory item is likened to beef stew, but receives an upgrade with flavorful bites of oxtail. Served on the side is your choice of white or brown rice, mashed potatoes or french fries.
The staff shares that this item is popular among diners and typically sells out before the end of the night.
There are more cozy options served daily on the menu, such as Mandoo Min ($10.95), which offers guests steamy saimin paired with fishcake, eggs, sweet pork, green onions and Korean dumplings (mandoo) — sure to warm you up on a cloudy day. Also available are Saimin, Udon, Oxtail Soup and so much more.
You can find out what’s on special at New Eagle Cafe by calling, checking out its website or stopping in for a daily surprise.
