Since opening up its brick-and-mortar establishment earlier this year, Laverne’s Hawaiian and Local Style Food has been scoring a “hole in one” in delectable dishes.
For years, Laverne’s has been satisfying customers’ appetites and cravings for Hawaiian food, local plate lunches and all-around comfort food.
Now with its casual sit-down eatery at Newtown Driving Range, diners can enjoy Laverne’s even more at either the Aiea range or its Waikele lunch wagon.
On the menu are a number of delicious entrees, including roast pork with gravy, beef stew, kalua pig cabbage and even burgers.
For lunch, devour a Teri Burger served a la carte ($3.35) or with fries ($2 extra), which can be customized to your liking with addons such as cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and bacon, for additional costs.
GOING ALL OUT
At Laverne’s Hawaiian and Local Style Food, a plethora of Hawaiian food and plate lunches can fill one’s belly. Indulge in the Kanaka Plate ($17.95), a hefty-sized plate lunch filled with two scoops of rice, kalua pig, chicken long rice, squid luau and lau lau with sides of lomi salmon and haupia. This dish is jam-packed with local favorites and is the perfect combination of everything you’re looking for in a Hawaiian meal.
