A Royal Meal

Squid with Black Bean Sauce Chow Mein ($7.25)

Golden Palace Seafood Restaurant, located in bustling Chinatown, is known for its traditional Chinese dishes and wide variety of delicious dim sum. The eatery is often busy during lunch, and the surrounding business clientele often places takeout orders for dim sum and a la carte dishes.

If you’re dining at Golden Palace during lunch, general manager Gary Lam recommends Squid with Black Bean Sauce Over Chow Mein ($7.25). It comprises squid, bell peppers and onions in a black bean sauce, and it’s served over crispy chow mein egg noodles. The chow mein is pan-fried before the abundant assortment of toppings and gravy are added.

Curry Chicken over Chow Funn ($5.95)

Even though summer is coming to a close, it’s not too early to start planning for the holidays. The eatery’s large banquet room can hold up to 500 people. Lam says Golden Palace has already started booking parties for the holidays; give the restaurant a call for any inquiries.

SECRET MENU ITEM

Curry Chicken Over Chow Funn ($5.95) is not officially on the restaurant’s menu, but this dish is one that many customers constantly return for. It features aromatic curry, boneless chicken, bell peppers and round onions. It’s a lighter, Chinese-style curry, so the spice isn’t as powerful.
