Cafe Soars With Lunch, Dinner Selections

Margherita pizza ($15)

Cafe Lani offers a variety of Italian-inspired dishes, along with more than 20 different breads and pastries that are baked to perfection daily. Fittingly, the word “Lani” translates to “heaven” or “sky” in Hawaiian.

Located in Ala Moana Center, the restaurant strives to create a unique dining experience with its open-space layout and contemporary Hawaiian-themed decor, while also providing all-you-can-eat breads and pastries tableside.

Starting Aug. 1, Cafe Lani will be changing things up by serving only lunch and dinner from open to close, according to general manager Takeshi Matsumoto. The restaurant also will be opening at 10 a.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. on weekends, and will close at 10 p.m. every day.

Healthy Green Salad ($15.50)

The combined lunch and dinner menu includes an abundance of dishes from pastas, hearty entrees and seafood to soups, salads and pizzas, such as the Margherita ($15) pizza, which has marinara, fresh basil and mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.

There also are special meal set options that include a choice of salad or soup, and large dessert parfaits that come in single servings or can serve up to five people.

Customers are encouraged to take home Cafe Lani’s signature house-made breads and pastries by placing orders over the phone or in-person (no reservations required for orders of five-piece bags).

A LIGHT BITE

If you had a big breakfast and are searching for a light lunch, go with Healthy Green Salad ($15.50) at Cafe Lani in Ala Moana Center. This leafy dish is filled with tofu, quinoa, bell peppers, broccoli, cherry tomato and asparagus, then topped with lotus root for a nice crunch. Plus, the salad is served with the eatery’s signature all-you-can-eat bread that’s baked fresh in-house daily.
