Conveniently situated on the second floor of Dole Cannery in Iwilei, Pomaikai Ballrooms offers elegance and style, along with a warm, inviting atmosphere, right in the heart of Honolulu.
“It’s what we hoped for when we opened: to serve as a centralized location where people from all over the island can come and enjoy our delicious cuisine coupled with stellar service and a convenient venue,” says Jeff Marcello, general manager of Pomaikai Ballrooms. “One of the highlights of our facility is its convenient downtown Honolulu location, and customers remark that when they’re here, it feels like an elegant hotel setting. We strive to provide a high-quality destination experience at an affordable price.”
On Wednesday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Hokulei room, Pomaikai Ballrooms will host its highly anticipated Administrative Professionals Day luncheon for $45 per person ($3 validated parking available). The special event will be hosted by “Da Kolohe Krew” of Shannon Scott and Mele Apana from Hawaiian 105 KINE, and includes entertainment from Jon Yamasato and Blayne Asing as well as Kapena. The menu will feature local flavors and Pacific Rim cuisine crafted by executive chef Freddie Billena and sous chef Eddy Ayau.
Reservations can be made by calling 695-4496 and the last day to hold and pay for seats at this popular event is Monday, April 24.
“You can’t beat our location; we’re near downtown so you don’t have to deal with the traffic and hustle-and-bustle in Waikiki,” says Ayau. “Convenience is definitely one of the important factors that goes into the experience here.”
The flavorful buffet will feature an array of entree choices, including: Braised Boneless Short Ribs with Cabernet Sauce; Awapuhi Chicken prepared with soy bean oil, ginger, diced onions and scallions; and Grilled Mahimahi crafted with olive tapenade, pesto, asparagus and tomatoes.
Mushroom Soup as well as Steamed White Rice, Scallop Potatoes, fresh sliced seasonal fruits and berries, and Grilled Vegetables with Asian Aioli also will be served. Additionally, guests can look forward to Macaroni Potato Salad, South Western Salad with black beans, corn, bell peppers, avocado and tortilla chips, as well as Charred Mushroom and Green Bean Salad and pasta salad.
And to top it all off, freshly brewed coffee, Harney & Sons Hot Tea and Mango Breeze Iced Tea, as well as French Pastries, Warm Vanilla-Raisin Bread Pudding and additional dessert favorites will round out the spread.
