Seafood boils may be all the rage at Raging Crab, but the restaurant has other dishes to satisfy hungry customers as well.
According to JC “Moto” Chow — who co-owns the establishment with business partner Steven “Sean” Saiki — The Raging Bowl is one of the eatery’s most popular items. It also comes highly recommended.
“The Raging Bowl ($12.99) is a sourdough bread bowl and we fill it with our house-made clam chowder,” Chow explains. “We top it off with actual Manila clams, so there are clams in the chowder itself and then there are actual clams, with the shell, on top as well. We garnish it with Old Bay seasoning and parsley.”
Not only does this bowl taste delicious, but customers can also take advantage of an extra discount.
“If you order The Captain’s Special, which is one of the most popular items on our menu, you get a Raging Bowl for a discounted price of $8,” Chow confirms. “The Bowl is meant to feed 2-3 people, because it’s kind of large.”
The Raging Bowl is available at the restaurant’s Honolulu and Aiea locations. Chow also encourages customers to try Chowder Fries ($7), which is a newer menu item.
“It features our house Cajun fries and we add mozzarella cheese, along with our house-made clam chowder, over them,” Chow says. “We top the fries off with bacon bits, Old Bay seasoning and parsley.”
Raging Crab’s Honolulu location is open for both lunch and dinner, while the Aiea location serves dinner only.
