For diners looking to enjoy an elegant yet casual atmosphere and delicious Japanese cuisine, look no further than Sakura Terrace Japanese Cafe. Nestled along South King Street, the tranquil eatery offers indoor and outdoor seating for guests, along with lots of convenient and free parking.

Authentic ingredients — like those at world-famous Tsukiji Market in Tokyo, Japan — as well as the local cuisine of Hawaii inspire the menu at

Sakura Terrace, which highlights fresh and healthy seafood options, sashimi bowls, bentos, tempura and more. To keep regular customers coming back for more, executive chef Takayuki Sekine keeps things fresh with monthly specials.

Sakura Terrace opened five years ago and strives to continue to bloom like the traditional Japanese sakura flower, after which the restaurant is named. Sekine says the owner wanted something casual, “a kind of cafe atmosphere, but that also serves good food.”

FEBRUARY FLAVORS

Get ready to try Sakura Terrace’s February Special ($32), offering wafu beef steak, lobster, bamboo shoots, sashimi, kobachi (small dishes), and boiled crab legs, all served with salad, rice and miso soup. To go with this meal, sip on February’s featured cocktail, Godiva Chocolate Dream ($8 a la carte, $5 when ordered with February Special). This chocolate-filled drink consists of Godiva chocolate liqueur, whipped cream, whiskey and cacao powder.
