Wailana Coffee House has a special New Year’s Day menu offered today that’s sure to start off your 2017 right. According to general manager Kenton Tom, these holiday specials have proven to be very popular over the years.
As he explains, one of the most popular specials is New York Steak ($16.95).
“It’s an 8-ounce New York steak; we season it and it comes with sautéed mushrooms and onion rings on top,” Tom says.

All dinners include Wailana’s all-you-can-eat salad bar, choice of starch (baked or mashed potato, french fries or rice), corn on the cob, dessert (coconut cake) and beverage (coffee, tea or soft drink).
“On New Year’s Day, the salad bar not only features our regular salad bar, but you also get our soup of the day, which is Portuguese bean soup,” Tom adds.
For the breakfast fanatics in your family, another featured menu item is Eggs Benedict Royal ($12.50). The dish comprises toasted English muffin halves topped with slices of smoked ham, turkey breast and poached eggs. The meal also delights with hollandaise sauce, hash browns, glazed peaches and coffee or tea.

“It’s a breakfast item, but it’s available all day,” Tom confirms. “You can have it at 12:01 a.m. — right after New Year’s — or you can have it for dinner.”
Not pictured on the New Year’s Day menu — but still available — is Fresh Catch of the Day ($14.50), which will be mahi mahi, according to Tom. “We marinate and season it beforehand and we lightly brown it with flour, salt and pepper on the grill,” he says. “We sauté it with a garlic lemon butter sauce with tomatoes and mushrooms, and it comes with your choice of starch and salad bar.

“These New Year’s specials are all-inclusive, and we also provide validated parking,” Tom notes.
