When it comes to offering a perfect destination for dining and drinks, Lewers Lounge hits all the right notes.
Lewers Lounge, one of Halekulani’s stellar dining options along Waikiki’s iconic shoreline, is the ideal gathering place for early-evening or after-dinner drinks. The inviting setting features contemporary and classic cocktails, alluring appetizers, desserts and live entertainment nightly.
“Lewers Lounge offers world-class cocktails, food, service and a genuine sense of place,” says Dante Camara, general manager of Lewers Lounge and Orchids Restaurant at Halekulani. “You never know who you may be sitting next to.”
Diners may select from an intriguing array of bites such as Fish Fingers ($12), fish sticks accompanied by a miso lemon aioli dipping sauce. Frikadellen ($12) features an exotic name yet familiar taste, as the beef sliders with mustard carry the same moniker as the German term for flattened meatballs — the original hamburger.
Lewers Lounge is also known for its Mediterranean Bento ($24), which is composed of feta-and-tomato chutney, hummus, moutabel (spicy eggplant dip), marinated olives, prosciutto and melon, as well as pita chips. The Greek-inspired array offers a host of unique flavors that pair well with the lounge’s expansive cocktail and beverage menu.
When ordering a cocktail, Camara recommends Halekulani’s Classic Mai Tai ($16), a beverage that elicits memories of relaxing on the beach. A blend of rums and fruit juices converge in each flavorful sip. Guests also rave about Siciliano ($16), a perfect pau hana beverage to enjoy while jazz notes permeate the room.
The aforementioned cocktails help set the mood for a memorable evening as the melodies produce a warm, inviting ambiance.
“The atmosphere at Lewers Lounge is intimate and serves as an authentic jazz lounge and bar,” Camara says. “Many well-known jazz musicians and vocalists have performed in this very room. Lewers Lounge represents one of Honolulu’s premiere jazz clubs.”
As part of its recently released 2016 Readers’ Choice Awards, Cond Nast Traveler recognized Halekulani as the No. 1 Hotel in Hawaii. The award stems, in part, from Halekulani’s dedication to offering top-tier customer service, serving up award-winning cuisine and providing memorable entertainment options — a combination epitomized at Lewers Lounge.
“In addition to Lewers Lounge, the Halekulani offers multiple renowned dining options,” Camara explains. “The focus is on world-class service executed by our passionate and professional staff. Food and beverages at Halekulani are special, and play an important role within the overall environment.”
