Can’t get enough sushi, bentos

Korean Sushi ($4.25)

For easy grab-and-go options and numerous bento choices, Aja Sushi & Bento presents a plethora of choices for lunch and dinner. Located in Ala Moana’s Makai Market Food Court, Aja is easy to spot and quick to cater to customers’ cravings.

Mini Bento ($6.99) is an especially popular option, according to general manager Lauren Yoo. The bento comes with white or brown rice, as well as one entree and two veggie sides.

“You can choose from 13 different entrees, including garlic chicken, salmon, meat jun and more,” Yoo says. “We’re known for the garlic chicken — it’s my grandmother’s recipe — but all of our entree choices are popular … This bento is just the right amount for lunch.

“Vegetable sides include choy sum, cucumber kimchee, taegu and more,” Yoo adds. “We always have really fresh broccoli and veggie options.”

Another customer favorite is Korean Sushi ($4.25) with10 pieces of sushi.

“There’s five different items in there — bulgogi, egg, choy sum, daikon and carrots,” Yoo says. “It comes with a special Korean sushi sauce — which is a slightly spicy shoyu-based sauce — for dipping.

“For the way we season our Korean sushi, you still dip (the sushi pieces) into the sauce,” she explains.

During October, take advantage of the Family Pack promotion, featuring Aja’s famous garlic chicken for $11.99 (regularly $14.99).

“This Family Pack feeds four to six people, and it just includes our chicken (no sides),” Yoo confirms.
