There’s always a nice feeling of coming home when visiting New Eagle Cafe located on Nimitz Highway. That comfort can be felt by guests at the eatery either because of the friendliness shown by the staff or the menu that’s loaded with local favorites — or, of course, a little bit of both.
Although its name suggests otherwise, New Eagle Cafe has been serving Hawaii since the 1960s. Dine at the local eatery on any given day and you’ll notice it’s filled with regulars engaging in conversation with the servers or with one another.
While enjoying a meal at this feel-good restaurant, be sure to order one of the most popular dishes, such as Oxtail Soup ($14.16).
WHERE BIGGER IS BETTER
Bringing your appetite is key when dining at New Eagle Cafe, where generous portions are served up daily. One of the restaurant’s most hefty offerings is Roasted Prime Rib, priced at $21.35. Sink your teeth into this seasoned and slow-roasted slab of tender beef, paired with a side of au jus and your choice of starch and steamed vegetables. New Eagle Cafe takes pride in its prime rib because of the meat’s superior quality. According to owner Tae Im, the beef used is never frozen, making it extra juicy and tender.
