Dessert might just be the most important meal of the day, and to satisfy that sweet necessity, look no further than Cake Works.
This full-service bakery specializes in everything from uniquely designed cakes and pastries to cup-cakes and macarons decorated like your favorite cartoon characters. (Pokemon macarons have been flying off the shelves lately!)
Since opening more than seven years ago, Cake Works has made a sweet splash in the community, reflecting chef and owner Abigail Langlas’ French culinary training and personal taste. She humbly credits her hardworking team for making it all possible — from preparing orders to decorating.
Don’t forget to look out for the bakery’s newest venture, pop-up desserts, with fresh eclairs highlighted every weekend. There is a limited supply, so call to preorder.
NO WHEAT, NO PROBLEM!
At Cake Works, Langlas features a different gluten-free cake each month. Throughout September, sink your teeth into Gluten-free Devil’s Food Cake ($19.95 for 6-inch, $32 for 8-inch). This gluten-free chocolate cake is layered with vanilla French butter and homemade fudge icing. Mini ($1.75 each) and regular ($3 each) cupcakes also are available. Langlas notes that all of the bakery’s cakes can be made gluten-free if patrons call ahead.
