Sarento’s at the Top of the Ilikai has been at the top since 1994, literally and figuratively.

Take an elevator up to the 30th floor of the Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites and enjoy the best food, service and view. With a wraparound layout that allows diners to see the city from every angle, Sarento’s offers a unique dining experience. And with two private rooms available, any occasion is made intimate and special.

The restaurant is only open for dinner, with the exception of pre-organized lunch parties. Happy hour also is served daily from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and all day Wednesday and Saturday, during which diners may enjoy 40 percent off any menu item with the purchase of a featured signature cocktail.

Newly appointed executive chef Glen Vanhorn continues the restaurant’s Italian tradition in the kitchen with European and Pacific Rim influences, serving up the classics that everyone loves, as well as some new dishes that will be sure to make diners’ favorites list.

SURF AND TURF

Introducing a weekly wagyu steak special, which will be available from Monday to Sunday, Vanhorn features items such as 8-ounce Wagyu New York Steak ($65). The special is ladled with a foie gras bordelaise sauce and served with truffle and goat cheese mashed potatoes, plus a salad. Today is the last day to enjoy this specific dish, but expect a new weekly creation tomorrow.

If you’re looking for less turf and more surf, however, go for Lobster Seafood Risotto ($54). The ocean-centered dish includes saffron risotto mixed with house-made Italian sausage. Everything is topped with a split lobster tail, tiger shrimp, seared diver scallop, Manila clams and calamari, and is finished off with a buttery reduced lobster stock.
