Party mode in full swing at this restaurant

Roast Honey Glazed Spare Ribs ($15.95)

Calling all dads and grads! House of Wong Restaurant is offering two set menus for Father’s Day and graduation celebrations. According to Joe Wong, one of the restaurant’s owners, both menus feature some of the eatery’s best-selling items.

One such item is Roast Honey Glazed Spare Ribs, which is part of the Father’s Day Party Menu ($199 per table). The spare ribs are usually $15.95 on the restaurant’s regular menu, Wong says.

“All of these (dishes on the party menus) are available on the regular menu, too,” he confirms. “The spare ribs are really good because they’re always made to order.”

Other favorites on the Father’s Day Party Menu include Chinese Chicken Salad, Roast Duck that’s made in house, and Steamed Fish Fillet. The 2016 Graduation Celebration Menu ($218 per table) differs slightly in that it features more deep-fried items, Wong says.

“The graduation menu is designed for high school graduation parties,” he explains. “Featured dishes include Deep Fried Squid and Crispy Gaugee, as well as Prawns with Mayonnaise and Honey Walnuts — that’s one of our most popular dishes.”

For both special menus, portions are prepared to accommodate groups of about 10 people.

“We are still open for Father’s Day and accepting reservations (for either type of party),” Wong says.

Customer parking is available on-site at the restaurant, but House of Wong also offers validated parking on the basement level of Hee Hing Plaza.

“Free parking is also available at First Hawaiian Bank after the bank closes, and there is a lot of metered street parking along Kapahulu Avenue,” Wong adds.
