Find serenity amid the hustle and bustle of Chinatown at Restaurant Epic, located on Nuuanu Avenue. And if you’re looking for a contemporary and upscale yet affordable dining experience, you’ll get a generous serving of that, too.
In an effort to keep patrons on their toes, general manager David Chang often changes up the menu. This includes creating a tasting menu each month. Through-out June, you can enjoy a four-course tasting menu Monday through Thursday nights for $35 per guest. This month’s selection includes Asian Roasted Duck Salad, Crab Dip, Cioppino or Kalua Pork Wellington for the entree, and Creme Brulee for dessert.
KEEPING IT FRESH
In addition to being featured in Restaurant Epic’s June tasting menu, Asian Roasted Duck Salad also is offered a la carte ($13 for lunch, $14 for dinner). It features a mix of romaine lettuce, red cabbage, carrots and cilantro, all tossed in a hoisin sesame dressing. The salad is topped with fried wonton chips, succulent duck and cherry tomatoes.
The restaurant also features a different Pasta of the Day each day. Diners especially love when Pesto Shrimp Pasta ($15 for lunch, $16 for dinner) is up for grabs. The rich and tasty dish includes shrimp tossed with linguine and pesto cream sauce. A mix of mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and spinach add even more flavor, while crushed macadamia nuts and Parmesan finish it off.
