You can find yourself in the middle of an enticing oasis when you arrive at Pagoda Floating Restaurant. Say “hello” to a myriad of your favorite local foods laid before you, as the taste-bud pleasing eatery offers both buffet and a la carte dining.

“The food is all made from scratch. (We have) good tasting local food, good service and good prices,” says restaurant manager Tracy Yadao.

Customers of the longstanding establishment can look forward to its new pupu and drink menu in the evening, featuring specials during happy hour (5-6 p.m.). Customers can enjoy a range of tasty bites as well as drink offerings such as domestic and imported beer.

Additionally, guests may take advantage of the restaurant’s lunch and dinner buffet special. During lunch, if you’re seated by 11:30 a.m. from Monday to Saturday, or by 11 a.m. on Sunday, you will receive 20 percent off. During nightly dinners, if you’re seated by 6 p.m., you also will receive 20 percent off.

SMALL BITES

As part of its new pupu menu, Pagoda Floating Restaurant has delicious bites to try, including Oysters on the Half Shell ($1.50 per piece, happy hour; $2.50 per piece, 6-8 p.m.) and Salt and Pepper Shrimp ($4, happy hour, $7, 6-8 p.m.). Always prepared fresh, the oysters are served with Japanese ponzu sauce and momiji oroshi, which is a grated radish and chili pepper condiment. As for the shrimp, it’s lightly seasoned with kosher salt, black pepper and potato starch, then deep fried.
