Enjoy a taste of Hong Kong in Waikiki at Seafood Village Chinese Cuisine. Located in Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa, the award-winning Chinese restaurant is hidden in the lower level of the hotel, across from world-famous Waikiki Beach, and offers a family-friendly setting with all your favorite Chinese dishes, including dim sum.
There also are four private rooms that can be reserved for parties (such as birthdays, graduation and retirement celebrations), special occasions or business meetings. The rooms can seat up to 70 people, and the restaurant can fit up to 200.
The restaurant also offers Kamaaina Lunch and Dinner Party Menus, featuring some of its top dishes at a great value. “We kept prices down just to help bring locals back into Waikiki,” explains manager Yao Ming Guan. “There are a lot of good reasons to come into Waikiki. H&M is open and Urban Outfitters (which is right next door). If you haven’t been to Waikiki in awhile, it’s buzzing.”
Locally owned and operated, Seafood Village has been in business since 1996, opening in the space that once was occupied by the legendary Waikiki hot spot Spats nightclub. Open for lunch and dinner, its extensive menu features authentic Hong Kong-style dishes, plus a dim sum menu (lunch only) with more than 40 items to choose from.
Validated parking is available at the Hyatt ($3 three-hour self parking; or $5 valet).
LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!
In an effort to bring kamaaina back into Waikiki, Seafood Village continues to offers its popular Kamaaina Lunch Party Menu for just $11.95 per person, featuring a set menu of the restaurant’s most popular dishes.
Among the dishes included is the local favorite Sweet and Sour Pork featuring crispy, juicy pork with assorted wok-fried vegetables in a tangy sweet-and-sour sauce.
There also is Salt and Pepper Calamari that is ever-so-lightly breaded, deep fried and made from the steak portion of the calamari.
Also enjoy an assortment of dim sum — Pork Bun, Chive Dumpling, Siu Mai and Seafood Dumpling — and the classic Minute Chicken Cake Noodle, consisting of lightly pan-fried boneless chicken, choy sum and crispy Hong Kong-style cake noodles.
The Lunch Party Menu also includes Chicken Salad with Oriental Dressing, Stir Fried String Beans and Mango Pudding. A minimum of 10 people and at least one day advanced reservation is required. A Kamaaina Dinner Party Menu also is available for $29.95 per person.
