In anticipation of New Year’s Eve, Japengo invites diners to end the year on a high note and start the party early with a special menu worthy of a fireworks display.

In harmony with Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa’s commitment to sustainability, Japengo’s cuisine revolves around the brand’s philosophy of utilizing local-sourced foods that represent the bounty provided by both land and sea. This concept resonates throughout Japengo’s “New Year’s Eve 2015” menu ($145 per person). The four-course meal features alluring dishes crafted by Hyatt executive chef Sven Ullrich and his heart-of-the-house team.

Situated on the third floor of Hyatt Regency’s Ewa Tower, Japengo offers an inviting atmosphere in which diners are treated to some of the best locally grown and sourced ingredients available.

“Our theme for Japengo is Hawaii Regional Cuisine, and we strive to remain true to that,” Ull-rich says. “For New Year’s Eve, diners are expecting a heightened sophistication and we crafted this menu to showcase high-quality ingredients.”

The New Year’s Eve 2015 experience kicks off with an appetizer duo of Dungeness Crab Salad with shaved heirloom radish, ginger, lemon grass, avocado and grapefruit, as well as Hibachi Prawns from Kauai with garlic pistou, tabouleh of quinoa, olive oil and citrus. Diners are then greeted with Steamed

Catch of the Day prepared with kukui nut and black truffle butter, limu tomato, ginger, cilantro and scallions that form a light broth.

“Surf and Turf” embodies the third course, as Petite Filet Mignon is accompanied by Kona Lobster and accented with Hamakua alii king mushrooms and Madeira jus.

The incredible dining experience culminates with the “Dessert Duo” that is sure to sweeten the incredible evening. The final course presents Waialua Estate Flourless Chocolate Bar with ganache, Kula strawberries and vanilla bean créme. The dessert round wraps up with Signature Coconut Créme Brulee elevated with fresh coconut and toffee crumble.

A vegetarian menu also is available and includes a lineup of intriguing dishes the likes of Sashimi of Heirloom Tomato, Steamed Silken Tofu & Shiitake Mushrooms and Winter Black Truffle Orzotto.
