Heavenly Island Lifestyle’s manager Mild Hasegawa believes that people flock to Hawaii to enjoy its beautiful outdoor beaches, mountain ranges and hikes. “So, why can’t we all enjoy Hawaii from the inside, too?” he asks.
At Heavenly, executive chef Keigo Yoshimoto takes pride in always serving local and organic food whenever possible. With fruits, veggies and meats coming from farms across the state, the freshness in each meal at Heavenly is definitely apparent. Just a little more than a year in, Heavenly’s menu focuses on Island favorites such as its signature Loco Moco ($15), Acai ($9.50) and Pitaya ($11) bowls and fresh fruit smoothies ($6.50 regular, $9 large).
Located at Shoreline Hotel Waikiki, the eatery serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and also hosts a daily happy hour featuring an immense organic wine list.
ORGANIC FOR THE WIN
Each season, Heavenly offers a new special. Currently, Yoshimoto is serving up his Organic Coconut Green Curry ($16). Offered only for dinner (from 5 p.m. to midnight), this dish is made with local vegetables and a choice of organic chicken breast or Kahuku shrimp. The curry features a mixture of local kale, coriander, organic spinach and organic coconut milk. When you first bite into this silky selection, you get just the right amount of spiciness to fully enjoy every last drop. Served with jasmine rice and a variety of Hawaii’s freshest vegetables, this dish will satisfy all your taste buds.
