Say ‘Yes’ to Tax Relief

While rapidly approaching tax deadlines may have some stressed about filing their returns on time, Zippy’s is featuring a special giveaway geared toward providing diners with much-appreciated monetary relief.

Zippy’s, the reigning winner of Star-Advertiser‘s annual Hawaii’s Best People’s Choice Awards for “Best Family Dining,” “Best Late-Night Eatery” and “Best Bento” categories, continues to offer can’t-miss monthly promotions that appeal to diners’ tastes and budgets.

Throughout April, Zippy’s patrons can participate in the “Say ‘Yes’ to $20,000 in Tax Relief” giveaway (no purchase necessary to enter, see stores for details). The grand prize is $10,000, while first prize ($5,000) and two second prizes ($2,500 each) also will be awarded. In addition to potentially winning big, diners can save with deals. For instance, now through April 30, the popular Spaghetti with Garlic Bread is specially priced at just $6.19 at the fast-food counter and $7.19 at the dine-in restaurant.

“It’s April and that time of the year where we could use some tax relief or even a tax ‘bonus,'” says Jeanine Mamiya-Kalahiki, marketing manager at Zippy’s Restaurants. “With this in mind, we’ve partnered with First Hawaiian Bank to give away a total of $20,000 in cash!”

Just in time for spring, Zippy’s has introduced the new All-In Teri Beef Salad ($11.75, available at dine-in restaurants through April 30). Designed to satisfy the heartiest of appetites, this “All-In” salad includes strips of grilled teriyaki beef and Kunia aquaponic greens over a bed of white rice with a side of macaroni salad. The tasty creation is garnished with crisp wun tun chips, diced tomatoes and cucumbers, and is drizzled with zesty vinaigrette.

“New, for a limited time, this salad combines the heartiness of a teri beef plate lunch in a light, refreshing salad,” Mamiya-Kalahiki says. “It’s definitely ‘all in!'”

Generations of diners have flocked to Zippy’s in pursuit of delectable desserts, and the eatery has created yet another masterpiece in Haupia Waffle ($7.65 at dine-in restaurants only, available through April 30). A scoop of ice cream tops a crisp Belgian waffle, along with haupia sauce, crushed pineapple, macadamia nuts and whipped cream. While the sweet treat is great to share with friends and family gathered around the table, it is understandable if you choose to fly solo and polish off the entire serving.

Zippy’s also has introduced a trio of new omelettes, which are available now at dine-in restaurants (served 24 hours daily).

Mushroom Choi Sum Omelette features two fresh island eggs, finely chopped choi sum and sliced mushrooms sauteed in garlic butter sauce. Broccoli Cheddar Omelette is composed of two fresh island eggs and filled with finely-chopped broccoli, pieces of crispy bacon and shredded Cheddar cheese. Chicken Mushroom Omelette offers up two island eggs and mozzarella cheese coupled with chopped, grilled chicken breast, tomatoes and sliced mushrooms sauteed in garlic butter sauce. Each omelette is served with a choice of rice, toast or hash browns.

Diners also rave about Zippy’s grilled sandwiches available in the dine-in restaurants. Grilled Pastrami Sandwich is built with savory pastrami, which is drizzled with Thousand Island dressing and served on grilled rye bread with mozzarella cheese. Two broiled hamburger patties headline Grilled Patty Melt, which is accented with Thousand Island dressing and onions on grilled rye with melted American cheese. Both sandwiches are served with a choice of french fries, macaroni salad, potato salad, tossed greens or a cup of soup to complete the meal.

“We offer a casual, friendly place to dine with family and friends. By serving many tasty favorites with consistent quality and taste, there’s something for everyone,” explains Mamiya-Kalahiki. “It’s also convenient, safe and we keep our menu fresh with new items, in addition to offering great giveaways like $20,000 cash!”

From flaky Napples to flavorful Zip Pacs, Zippy’s continues to serve up local comfort food around the clock, while living up to its reputation as one of “Hawaii’s Best” dining destinations.
