Great Food, Flavors Served Anytime

As its name aptly suggests, Anytime Cafe is well-versed in providing a wide range of flavorful cuisine crafted to satiate any appetite virtually anytime you crave stellar sustenance.

Owners Ken and Cindy Wong opened Anytime Cafe four years ago in Market City Shopping Center, situated in the heart of Kaimuki, with the goal of providing fresh, flavorful cuisine for local families to enjoy at affordable prices. The restaurant offers a host of tasty menu items with choices for all members of the family incorporating Hong Kong-, Japanese-, Italian- and even local-style flavors and preparation techniques at incredible values.

“In Hong Kong, this type of mixed cafe is very popular — that way parents can come and eat noodles or soup while kids can enjoy pizza and pasta,” says Cindy. “We have Hong Kong-style noodles, Italian food, local-style favorites, hamburgers, oxtail soup, loco moco — everything! We have so many choices for families.”

Anytime Cafe features assorted entrees — many of which include rice, pasta or noodles. Shrimp Wonton Noodle in Broth ($8.95 with thin/wide noodles) is a customer favorite that can be customized with shrimp noodles ($9.25) or prepared with lo mein (add $2) or with extra noodles (add $2). As the weather slowly begins to cool, the multiple noodle varieties make for the perfect choice any time of day.

“Anytime you are hungry and think about us, you can come and enjoy,” says Cindy. “The prices are very affordable, too.”

Dishes incorporate fusion influences from various countries and cultures, including Baked Pork Chop with Fried Rice ($13.95). The delectable meal is perfectly cooked and includes a choice of soup or salad and two slices of garlic bread.

Thai Style Pork Cheek ($6.95) is another customer favorite, and features a house special sauce as a marinade. The appetizer is served with Thai-style sauce that complements the dish’s unique bold flavor.

Fresh Clams Spaghettini with White Wine Sauce ($11.95) headlines a host of Italian-inspired menu options. The light yet flavorful creation incorporates the unique flavors of fresh clams and white wine with perfectly cooked pasta.

Shrimp Risotto ($13.95) is another popular entree selection, which Cindy says is one of her favorites. The dish features tasty shrimp in a northern Italian rice dish that is cooked in broth to create a creamy consistency.

Anytime Cafe also serves up multiple lunch specials available daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., which include a choice of soup or salad to enhance your meal.

“Our lunch specials are very popular, and we offer a wide variety of food,” Cindy says. “We have a lot of families that come to enjoy their favorites.”

Those looking to host festive parties and gatherings can call upon Anytime Cafe to accommodate a multitude of events, from birthday parties to business or holiday functions. The owner asks patrons interested in hosting their party at the restaurant to provide advance notice to ensure adequate space is allocated.

Additionally, Wong encourages readers to be on the lookout for soon-to-be-announced Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s specials just in time for the bustling holiday season.

With so many alluring menu items, and new dishes and specials added regularly, it’s easy to see why local diners call on Anytime Cafe for delicious, affordable family dining.
