Here’s Your Piece of the Pie

Anna Miller’s, conveniently located in Aiea’s Pearlridge Center, is every pie-lovers dream! The 24-hour establishment serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at any time of day, which means patrons also can dive into a delectable slice of pie whenever cravings hit.

The eatery also is welcoming its 40th anniversary this year, a huge milestone for Anna Miller’s and another excuse to celebrate with plenty of pies. More than 20 varieties (23, to be exact) are on the menu daily, so there’s definitely something for everyone.

The most famous pie of them all is the Fresh Strawberry Pie ($4.29 per slice).

“This is our most popular (pie),” says manager Eric Ferreira of the seasonal pie. “It’s our signature.

“It normally runs from mid-February to the end of October. When it’s out of season, we replace it with a strawberry tart, like a miniature strawberry pie.”

It seems the Strawberry Pie season is almost over, so make sure you stop in soon to grab a slice (or an entire pie).

For a taste of the Islands, look no further than the Macadamia Nut Pie ($4.29 per slice). A hearty helping of macadamia nuts is the main feature of this dish, which also boasts a delicious crust that complements the texture of the nuts perfectly.

Those who crave a sweet, yet tart flavor will enjoy a Lemon Meringue Pie ($3.99 per slice). The top layer resembles a souffle and is light and airy, which wonderfully balances out the thick meringue that sits beneath it.

Once again, the crust is perfect in each and every bite and adds that extra “crunch” to the Lemon Meringue Pie.

Macadamia Nut and Lemon Meringue pies are two refreshing desserts that are served year-round, according to Ferreira. (All pies are baked fresh daily and can be served a la mode for an additional $1.99.)
