With a name like Golden Palace Seafood Restaurant, you’re, of course, wondering what it feels like to dine like royalty. Well, prepare to have your expectations exceeded with a menu that boasts more than 100 items.
If you’re dining with a restrictive diet, the restaurant has you covered, as well.
“I know there are a lot of people with dietary requirements, or they’re allergic to certain things,” says manager Gary Lam. “So we’ve got all bases covered.”
To start, Deep Fried Stuffed Tofu With Shrimp ($7.50) is a multitude of different textures that work well together. Unlike other restaurants that may grind up the shrimp, the chefs at Golden Palace dice it up themselves so that the texture of the shrimp in the tofu is not lost — plus, it’s made to order. It is then dipped in a light batter, deep-fried and served with a shoyu-based sauce containing green onions and chili pepper.
Forgo your usual main dish choices and try Sauteed Shrimp With Vermicelli Casserole ($9.95). Consisting of round onions, green bell peppers, green onions, shrimp and vermicelli rice noodles, it is cooked in a casserole with the restaurant’s satay sauce.
Finally, a little-known secret to the restaurant is that even if you don’t see it on the menu, just ask.
An off-the-menu item that remains a favorite with many: Orange Chicken ($7.95). Boneless chicken is fried and topped with an orange glaze.
With graduation season quickly approaching, Golden Palace also can cater to any of your celebratory party needs.
