Celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Day dim sum style at The Mandalay in downtown Honolulu.
Known for its fresh, cooked-to-order Hong Kong-style dim sum, the family-friendly restaurant offers a special Dim Sum Brunch Buffet on Christmas and New Year’s Day with sittings at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Price is $21.99 for adults, $17.99 for seniors age 60 and over, $13.99 for children age 4 to 12, and free for children 3 and under.
There are 17 classic dim sum dishes such as Pork Hash and Beef Balls; seven stir-fried entrees such as Char Siu Chow Funn and Salt and Pepper Shrimp; four salads; Egg Flower Soup; and eight different desserts, including Red Bean Gin Dui, Egg Custard Tarts and Almond Tofu.
It’s the perfect meal for anybody who loves dim sum. For dinner, the restaurant has created a Christmas Day and New Year’s Day Dinner Buffet Menu with sittings at 5 and 7:30 p.m. Cost is $28.99 for adults, $24.99 for seniors age 60 and over, $17.99 for children age 4 to 12, and free for children 3 and under).
The dinner buffet menu features Roasted Pig, Snow Crab Legs, Peking Duck with Bun, Prime Rib and Shrimp Cocktail; plus Egg Flower Soup; four types of salads such as Chinese Chicken Salad and Tofu with Watercress Salad; 10 stir-fried entrees; and seven desserts.
For both lunch and dinner, customers also can choose to order from the regular menu instead of the buffet, and there will be specials such as Sauteed Mix Seafood in a Taro Basket ($19.95 small, feeds four to six people, $38 large, feeds 10 to 12 people).
Seating for the brunch and dinner buffet is limited, call for reservations. Public parking is available at neighboring Alii Place. If you’re dining after 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or anytime on Saturday and Sunday, validated parking is available at Bishop Square (across the street).
