Wailana is Fallin’ for Oktoberfest With Tasty SpecialsColumns Lite Bites

For the past 10 years, Wailana Coffee House in Waikiki has been offering a special Oktoberfest menu in celebration of the popular German tradition.
Available Oct. 5 and 6, the Oktoberfest menu features Smoked Ham Shank ($15.75), German Bratwurst ($12.95), Smoked Pork Chops ($14.25) and a Bavarian Breakfast Special ($9.95).
Smoked Ham Shank is specially cut for Wailana and is braised all day resulting in a soft, stew-like meat that falls right off the bone. It also has a Dijon mustard sauce, and is served with German potato salad, sauerkraut Bavarian red cabbage, chocolate mint cake and salad bar.
German Bratwurst (sausage) is specially ordered for the occasion and has a nice, spicy taste to it. Smoked Pork Chops is a signature breakfast menu item at the iconic coffee house and sometimes is offered as a dinner special. It’s smoked all the way through and is rich in flavor, and for Oktoberfest, is served with apple sauce.
The Bavarian Breakfast Special consists of homemade potato pancakes, bratwurst, two large eggs (cooked any style), apple sauce and sour cream.
“Our Oktoberfest menu is really popular,” says general manager Kenton Tom. ” It’s fun to do, and it’s a nice change of pace for the restaurant.”
Breakfast is served from 6 a.m. to midnight, and the three Oktoberfest lunch/dinner entrees are offered from 10 a.m. to midnight.

Since then, the eatery has become a legendary landmark in Waikiki, and a favorite for locals and visitors from around the world.
