Tempt Your Palate with Plaza Cafe’s Hefty Feast

Take a dive into a delicious seafood dining experience at Plaza Cafe. Hidden along Nimitz Highway is a seafood buffet that has been serving kamaaina, short-term hotel guests and military families since the 1970s, and is waiting to be indulged in every weekend. During the week, Plaza Cafe serves food a la carte, but when the weekend rolls around, out comes the buffet. This allyou-can-eat event is from 5 to 9 p.m. every Friday and Saturday, and features local seafood favorites such as snow crab legs, poke, mussels, its fresh catch and lomi lomi salmon. This seafood buffet costs $30.95 for adults and $16.95 for children (ages 4-10).

If seafood isn’t really your preference, Plaza Cafe also offers its buffet for $26.95 (without crab legs) and serves other popular dishes such as kalua pork, island-style chicken and a pasta and salad bar. After a good meal, you can’t forget the best part — dessert. This weekend buffet tops off its meals with signature bread pudding, a soft-serve station and other assorted desserts.

“We are a generational restaurant and we have a lot of loyal customers, but we would really like to start attracting younger crowds,” says manager Rudy Fao.

Other than the great food, what attracts Plaza Cafe’s loyal customers are its “low costs, convenient location and we validate free parking,” Fao adds.
