Grilling Up a Storm at Camellia Buffet

From the moment you walk in to Buffet Camellia on McCully Street, there’s no escaping that mouth-watering yakiniku aroma as guests cook their food themselves at their table.

The restaurant celebrates its 27th anniversary this year, with a growing following of loyal customers who continue to return for its tasty all-you-can-eat yakiniku-style food.

The buffet line offers a great selection of meats (kalbi, and barbecue beef, chicken and pork) and vegetables. There also are some local favorites, such as kim chee fried rice, macaroni salad, fried mandoo, orange chicken, kim chee, taegu and kim chee cucumber. Also available are traditional Korean dishes, including Korean pancake, Korean sweet tea and jab-chae (long rice noodles with onion, green onion and carrots). To complete the meal, there’s seaweed soup and miso soup, fruits and Jell-O, as well as rice and sweet rice with red bean. And for dinner, shrimp, sirloin steak and frozen yogurt are added to the menu.

But what sets Buffet Camellia apart from other yakiniku restaurants is its secret sauce used for all its meat dishes, which gives a flavor that is irresistible.

Open seven days a week, lunch is $17.95, and $13 for children age 4 to 8. Dinner is $25.95, and $15 for children age 4 to 8. A private room for up to 30 people also is available inside the restaurant.
