The people have spoken as this year’s Star-Advertiser‘s Hawaii’s Best Awards reveals that IHOP Hawaii serves up the Best of the Best Breakfast and Pancakes. With four locations on Oahu and one in Hilo, IHOP Hawaii is exclusively launching the IHOP Challenge ($45), offering the best of both of their award-winning grinds.
Inspired by the Travel Channel television series Man v. Food, hosted by Adam Richman, general manager David Bagood masterminded this monstrous feast consisting of the breakfast favorite Big Steak Omelette, quadrupled! That makes for 12 eggs combined with juicy strips of steak, hash browns, fresh green peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and Cheddar cheese. A side of salsa completes this beefy dish.
“We’d love to challenge Adam to come in and try it,” Bagood says. “It was mostly for fun, to see how many people would eat it.”
To actually win the challenge, however, individual diners must not only down the entire hearty meal, but also the stack of six Original Buttermilk Pancakes (other types may be substituted) that accompany the dish. If you take the last bite within one hour, the whole spread is on the house.
If can, can. If no can, just spread the omelette love. “Come with your friends, order it, look at it, and if it’s too big, just share it with everyone,” suggests owner Sarah Espino. The major munch is a great family-style dish for an affordable group dinner.
If you can handle the challenge before the kanak attack sets in, your entree won’t be the only giveaway. Enjoy complimentary wi-fi and free parking at the Ala Moana location, right alongside the Aqua Palms & Spa.
Nobody has done it before, so you and your gigantic appetite could be the first to win the IHOP Challenge.
