With an assortment of items spanning the alphabet from ahi belly and aku bone to sashimi and tako poke, Fresh Catch caters to all appetites.
As owner and chef Reno Henriques puts it, Fresh Catch is a “one-stop shop” for those looking to land a great meal at either the Kaneohe or Kaimuki location. From a vast assortment of fresh poke to plate lunches, cold beverages and even Red Velvet Cupcakes for dessert, Fresh Catch has its loyal customers hooked.
While simple, the Sashimi ($10.99) is the epitome of freshness as the thinly sliced fish sets the tone for a great meal. Take a stab at the Smoked Tako ($16.99 per pound) and even build a custom poke bowl, which varies in price depending on one’s choice of meat and desired scoops of rice for an additional 50 cents each.
The Smoked Meat and Onions ($7 for side order, $8.50 for plate) offers up a hearty portion of smoked pork served on a savory bed of freshly chopped onions. Henriques smiles as he serves the dish, noting that “everybody loves that one.” He also recommends the Ahi Katsu ($9.25 for side order, $10.25 for plate) as customers clamor for the large ahi steak that is lightly breaded and pan-fried until golden brown to lock in the flavor.
In addition to the wide variety of fresh poke and seafood plates available daily, Fresh Catch also offers smoked meat by the pound. With selections including kalbi, teri beef, shoyu chicken and charsiu chicken, Fresh Catch takes the burden out of barbecuing, as the meat is marinated, seasoned and ready to grill.
Poke and sashimi platters also are available for special events, and custom orders are welcomed.
