Setting the bar for ‘modern’ events

As summer heats up, The Mod- ern Honolulu is offering mul- tiple options for those hosting
an array of events, from corporate meetings and weddings to graduation parties or other special occasions.
The Modern Honolulu, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of central Waikiki and downtown Honolulu, offers meeting and event spaces for groups as small as 10, and can accommodate parties of up to 150. Its signature Sun Suite has both an indoor room as well as an outdoor covered lanai encom- passing more than 2,600 square feet.
The upper Private Sunset Beach features an outdoor cocktail bar ad- jacent to a round wading pool sur- rounded by 100 tons of sand. The Modern’s restaurant, The Grove, is also available to host private events, both indoors and on the outdoor deck. These options offer unbeatable ocean and sunset views and serve as prime viewing locations for Friday night fireworks.
Several different menus are avail- able for events at The Modern, includ- ing butler-passed appetizers, action stations, full buffets or plated dinners; signature cocktails and robust bar menus are also available.
When considering the plated din-
ner menu, event organizers may select from a variety of tasty se- lections, including Kiawe-Grilled Chicken Breast with balsamic teri- yaki sauce, whipped potato, roasted zucchini and watercress chimich- urri; Korean-Style Kalbi Short Rib with lemongrass-scented rice, chili garlic soy glaze, blistered cherry tomato and roasted asparagus; and Mac Nut-Crusted Mahi Mahi accompanied by whipped potato, roasted beets, spinach, and brown butter beurre blanc (prices vary according to the menu selected).
