It’s seven years and counting for Hawaii’s Favorite Kitchens, which is conveniently located right next door
to another local mainstay — the original Rainbow Drive-In.
“You can get a taste of a wide variety of foods that represent Hawaii,” says owner Chris Iwamura. “The inspiration for HFK was to create a place that highlighted and served different local favorites in one place.”
Fans of Rainbow Drive-In, Hawaii’s Fa- vorite Kitchens’ sister company, will enjoy the HFK Mix Plate ($11.75). It comes with your choice of one Rainbow Drive-In en- trée and Rainbow’s rotisserie chicken, as well as poke, all over a bed of rice. Ex- pect a scoop of mac salad and steamed veggies to accompany the feast.
“(It’s a) great way to try different items on one plate,” says Iwamura.
