Though it’s best known for its tasteful ales and other al- cohols, don’t sleep on Maui Brewing Co.’s food offer- ings. Take its Veggie Burger ($15.50) as proof. A house- made patty — which com- prises black beans, brown rice, macadamia nuts, carrots, flax seeds and an herb blend — is centered around vegan mayo, lettuce, tomato, sliced avocado and pickled ginger on a toasted wheat bun.
“The veggie burger is big on flavor, while being health-conscious,” chimes Shelton.
