The moment you consume Santouka’s Ramen, a gentle flavor will spread and shift into rich, Umami flavors. Established in 1988, with a single restaurant in Asahikawa, Hokkaido; which only had nine seats and a single item on their menu. Santouka’s mission has always been to make delicious Ramen, especially made for families. This was the beginning of Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. In 2013, Santouka opened their first location in Hawai’i, hoping to create delicious, wholesome dishes for locals, tourists, and Japanese living in Hawai’i.

To make our signature Tonkotsu broth we simmer pork bones for about 20 hours, or until it becomes pearl white. Finally, after an extensive, low temperature simmer, we add vegetables, dried fish, kelp, and other savory ingredients. The taste of our broth is exceptional, in part because it’s never boiled. Touched with the lightest amounts of seasoning, we take pride that our soup can be drunk down to the very last drop. Please come and enjoy Ramen, Gyoza, and a variety of rice dishes that you won’t get tired of eating everyday.

1. A popular local favorite. Our unique “Toro-niku” is made with tender pork cheek, which is very rare. Complimented with a Tonkotsu broth and combined with a savory Karamiso base to give the perfect amount of spice.
