Way back in 2013, co-owners Miles Oyasato and Ty Takishita unveiled their eat- ery Kau Kau Grill.
Ever since its origins, the Mapunapuna Street restau- rant has been luring in hun- gry customers with its glo- rious protein-packed plates.

freshest ingredients are used. One great grab and go item available is Kau Kau Grill’s Bento ($18). It has luscious barbecue baby back ribs, pulehu beef short ribs and garlic shrimp.
The baby back ribs are slowly cooked and receive a nice char when grilled. Next, they are doused with mouthwatering housemade barbecue sauce.

“surf” accompany- ing this “turf ” dish features plump, juicy
shrimp that are cooked with a zesty housemade puree of garlic and adorned with parsley.
Another great plate from Kau Kau Grill is the Lunch- box ($16).
It comes with those mar- velous barbecued ribs, pulehu beef short ribs and smoked meat.
The restaurant’s smoked meat is highly admired by patrons, as it is skillfully cooked and mixed with de- licious caramelized onions.
The prices on the Kau Kau Grill Bento and the Lunchbox reflect a $2 discount, which is valid until the end of April, Oyasato shares.
There’s even more great news, because the restau- rant also does catering for those who wish to custom- ize orders to their personal desires.
