A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: CLASSIC SIRLOIN BURGER ($12.95 DAILY FOR LUNCH)

Wolfgang’s Steakhouse has announced its first-ever hamburger-eating contest to celebrate the Fourth of July and also raise money for the Wounded Warrior Ohana, a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and remember those who sacrificed so much for so many. The Wolfgang’s Fourth of July Burger Challenge will be held Thursday, July 4, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Main Stage, Royal Grove, Royal Hawaiian Center.

The fun event will award trophies and prizes for the top three fastest times to eat five Wolfgang’s half-pound burgers, and also award a spirit trophy and prize to the contestant who raises the most money for the Wounded Warrior Ohana.

There is no fee to enter, but each contestant is encouraged to have family and friends donate to the Wounded Warrior Ohana in the contestant’s name at the event, or contestants can collect donations before the event and bring it with them on the event day.

“We hope to fill up our roster and also see a lot of people at Royal Hawaiian Center cheering the contestants on, and we hope to raise a lot of money for this worthy charity, as well,” states Bill Nickerson, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse general manager.

For more info on how to enter the contest, log on to Facebook and check out the Honolulu events section or send an email to wolfgangsburgerchallenge@gmail.com.
