Genki Sushi continues to bring fun into the mix of its tasty, convenient and affordable dining experience.

For example, the “Bullet Express” made its U.S. debut at the Ala Moana Center location a few years ago, allowing customers to place their order off a touch-screen iPad and then have their food delivered to their table via automated food trains.

Inspired by Japan’s iconic bullet train, the modern, high-tech food-ordering system also is available at Genki Sushi Kauai, Maui, Pearlridge, Waikele, Kapahulu and Kaneohe.

While Genki Sushi is known for its kaiten (revolving) sushi dining experience, the family-friendly restaurant also has become popular for its party platters.

“For holidays, we suggest that they (customers) call in their order,” says David Moon, Genki Sushi purchasing director and operations manager, about ordering party platters. “But, in general, you can walk-in and, depending on how busy it is, they can do it in 10 to 20 minutes or less.”

Party platter choices from Genki Sushi include Party Platter A ($45 Oahu, $48 Ala Moana and neighbor islands), Party Platter B ($30 Oahu, $33 Ala Moana and neighbor islands), Party Platter C ($30 Oahu, $33 Ala Moana and neighbor islands), California Platter ($30 Oahu, $32 Ala Moana and neighbor islands) and Combination Platter ($15 Oahu, $16 Ala Moana and neighbor islands). Regular customers may notice that the prices for the party platters have been reduced, but taste, quality and quantity are the same. “We wanted to try to bring an awareness to our takeout menu and make it more affordable,” explains David Moon, Genki Sushi purchasing director and operations manager.
