By adding fresh, new menu items to its extensive list of local favorites, Nice Day Chinese Seafood Restaurant dazzles diners with tasty cuisine served in an inviting, relaxed atmosphere.

Case in point, the restaurant’s culinary team recently introduced Curry Chicken ($10.95), a delicious and colorful concoction composed of chicken, bell peppers, onions, carrots and potatoes.

Nice Day serves up nearly 200 intriguing a la carte selections, including sizzling plates, appetizers, soups, seafood, pork, beef, poultry, vegetable and rice dishes. Additionally, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, diners may delve into a host of dim sum (prices range from $3 to $5) selections that are prepared fresh every morning and served by the restaurant’s friendly staff tableside on convenient carts.

Like its sister restaurant Happy Days Chinese Seafood Restaurant in Kaimuki, Nice Day continues to please multiple generations of diners under the guidance of co-owners Lisa Lum and Sang Chan. Nice Day’s convenient Liliha Street locale is situated just minutes away from the heart of downtown Honolulu and adjacent Chinatown area, and has treated customers to delicious Chinese cuisine since 2008. The restaurant is adorned with large red lanterns to bring both customers and employees good luck.

“We use healthy vegetable oil in our cooking and also incorporate more vegetables in our recipes for customers to enjoy,” says Shirley Cheng, manager at Nice Day. “I always overhear customers saying how much they enjoy our food, and they keep coming back.”

Hong Kong Steamed Vegetable Noodles ($10.95) is a healthy favorite that features a bed of delicious noodles tossed with bean sprouts, onions and choy sum, all topped with a zesty sauce. Cheng explains that Hong Kong-style noodle dishes are healthier than cake noodle or similar selections, as Nice Day’s version is cooked in less oil, resulting in crispy, flavorful noodles.

Singapore Rice Noodle ($9.95) is another popular choice that features a blend of shrimp, egg, char siu pork, bean sprouts and onions, all tossed in hearty portions of thin, perfectly seasoned noodles.

Nice Day also offers a host of pork and poultry dishes, which are great as stand-alone entrees or as pupus to share with friends and family. For instance, Mapo Tofu ($10.95) brings together minced pork, tofu and a rich broth accented with some heat via chili pepper flakes.

Cheng also recommends Roast Pork ($11 per pound), which is available daily and can be cut pupu-style to enjoy as a family. Bring the ohana by today and see why so many diners return for the Nice Day experience.
