For a devout carnivore, few things are more satisfying than protein, especially when it comes to sushi. Tender pieces of fish, shrimp, scallops and meat taste even better when paired with sushi rice and condiments. Reasons like this are why Genki Sushi thrives as a growing empire. The popular chain of Japanese eateries now boasts 13 restaurants on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.

Genki’s incredible menu has something for everyone, but Spicy Tempura Roll ($4.95) seems to be a favorite, as it features panko-coated shrimp wrapped in sushi rice, topped with spicy ahi and drizzled with sweet chili sauce and unagi sauce.

Another best-seller among sushi fanatics is Spicy Tuna Gunkan ($2.95) This classic dish lures patrons in with its flavorful sushi rice wrapped with nori and topped with spicy ahi.

And Kalbi Nigiri ($2.95) is simple carnivorous fun. Marinated kalbi is layered over sushi rice and ready to consume.

Kids also will enjoy a Keiki Bowl ($3.95) with hot dog, Spam, egg and rice.

Go Genki and enjoy a high-tech kaiten style of dining.
