It’s Midsummer Foodie’s Dream at Kaka‘ako Kitchen’s picnic on the lanai happening July 29 at 6:30 p.m., where partons can wine (BYO wine and beer with no corkage fee) and dine in the heart of Kaka‘ako. May’s event completely sold out, so make sure to call or visit the website soon to make your reservations.

While customers enjoy special events such as picnic on the lanai, they also come back for the great food that’s served up daily. Dining Out caught up with Brandi Namahoe and Darlene Kaku one busy afternoon for lunch as they were discussing their favorite things to eat at Kaka‘ako Kitchen.

Brandi Namahoe: “I got the Hibachi Chicken Wrap ($8.99). I’m a creature of habit. I get it every time I come here. It tastes good, it’s not heavy and I like the flavors. If I don’t get this, I get the Chinese 5-Spice Shoyu Chicken ($9.19).”

Darlene Kaku: “I’m eating the (fresh catch of the day) Ono with Teri Miso ($14.99). I’ve never ordered it before, but it was very good. I usually get the Sweet Chili Chicken ($9.19) or the shoyu chicken. I decided to try something new, and it was good.”
