G Sushi lets the river run its course. That is, the river of sushi that flows right into a satisfying, multiple-course lunch or dinner.

The kaiten-style eatery, located in Market City Shopping Center, features plates of sushi carried on wooden boats that stream past hungry customers. The portions are perfectly sized for trying many small plates, all adding up to a diverse, delicious meal.

  • Uni ($5.99)
  • G Sushi offers a kaiten-style dining experience that can't be beat.

Since spicy tuna dishes are always popular, co-owner Lisa Yuan and her staff creatively designed the Spicy Tuna Cake ($2.89), featuring a blend of ahi, Shaka and Sriracha sauces, nori and green onion on top of rice.

Other floating favorites include Uni (Sea Urchin Roe; $5.99), Hamachi ($3.99) and Spicy Tuna Don ($3.59).

Freshness is a priority to Yuan, however, who makes everything made-to-order for those menu items that won’t survive the ride.

The restaurant’s long, curved dining bar that bends around the flowing food creates an intimate space. If that doesn’t float your boat, to-go platters also are offered in sushi varieties as well as irresistibly sweet options such as Peanut Butter Mochi ($23.90, 22 piece).

It’s worth it to make the trip, though. You can BYOB (bring your own bottle) and settle in amongst the bustling crowd of sushi-goers for a meal you won’t forget.
