La Vie will be the intimate setting for the Pierre Montégut Bordeaux Dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 6 to 9 p.m

Join an exciting, special evening of food and wine at La Vie on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. This event titled the Pierre Montegut Bordeaux Dinner will highlight glorious French wine selections and an exquisite five-course menu in an intimate setting at the restaurant in the Ritz-Carlton Residences Waikiki Beach.

Among the offerings are the spectacular Bordeaux wines by AXA Millesimes, featuring Chateau Pichon Baron and Chateau Suduiraut. Pierre Montégut and Ana Carvalho will be on hand to lead guests through a tasting of these sumptuous selections.  Technical director of Chateau Suduiraut, Montégut imbues enthusiasm for sweet wines. Since January 2018, Carvalho has become brand ambassador for the seven AXA Millesimes wineries. She is now based in Bordeaux but travels around the globe sharing her expertise and love of wine.

All of the wines for the event will be flown in directly from the Chateau and the red Bordeaux will all be poured from 3-liter double-magnum bottles.

“Chef de cuisine Patrick Collins has crafted an exquisite menu to highlight these superb vintages,” shares Jordyn Oriole, the restaurant’s director of catering and events.

The price of the Jan. 29 event is $350 inclusive of tax and gratuity. As an example of the delightful sensory tastes at this gathering, Castelnau De Suduiraut Sauternes 2011 will be paired with Foie Gras Brulee, including Asian pear, macadamia nut and Maui onion.

S De Suduiraut Vielles Vignes 2018 accompanies Pomme Crusted Hawaiian Snapper with spinach and cauliflower.

AXA Millesimes brand ambassador Ana Carvalho will be on hand to help lead guests through the wine selections.

Continuing the perfect melding of wine and food, Les Tourelles De Longueville 2014 is partnered with Root Vegetable Perigourdine, including beet root, winter truffle and hay smoked duck.

Chateau PichonLonguevilleau Baron De Pichon-Longueville (second Cru Classe en 1855 — 1988, 2002, 2010) is partnered with Beef Cheek Bourguignon and Akaushi Strip Loin featuring maitake, pomme aligot and bone marrow bordelaise.

Capping off a wonderful night, Chateau Suduiraut Sauternes 2007 will be coupled with Parsnip Glazed Poached Pair with highlights of cardamom, pistachio and honey.
